چکیده

A population of individuals is divided into groups. Individuals are recurrently randomly matched with individuals from their group to play a generic symmetric 2-player game. Deterministic interand intragroup dynamics are derived from a model of individual imitation within groups and individual migration between groups. Conditions are identified under which subsets (components) of the set of stationary states are (interior) asymptotically stable. The results are then applied to generic coordination games and the prisoners’ dilemma. The unique asymptotically stable set of stationary states in coordination games is such that every individual in non-extinct groups plays the Paretooptimal equilibrium. In the multi-group prisoners’ dilemma there is no asymptotically stable subset of the set of stationary states. JEL classification: C62, C72, C73

Investigating the Effect of Rewards on Individual Players' Efforts: A Behavioral Approach

The main goal of the study is to examine the effect of rewards on the behavior of players in a team activity. In this framework, by performing 12 sequential and simultaneous games in a laboratory environment examine the rewarding effect on players' behavior. Students from Yazd universities surveyed and the sample of 182 students is in the form of two groups, which collected in total for 2184 ma...

Evolutive Equilibrium Selection I: Symmetric Two Player Binary Choice Games

The aim of the paper is the construction of a distributional model which enables the study of the evolutionary dynamics that arise for symmetric games, and the equilibrium selection mechanisms that originate from such processes. The evolution of probability distributions over the state variables is studied using the Fokker-Planck diffusion equation. Equilibrium selection using the ’’basin of at...

A review on symmetric games: theory, comparison and applications

Game theory models decision makers' behaviors in strategic situations. Since the structures of games are different, behavior and preferences of the players are different in various types of game. This paper reviews various situations of games. Here, characteristics of some common games are discussed and compared. Specifically, we focus on a group of games called symmetric games including Prison...

Multi-player games on the cycle.

In multi-player games n individuals interact in any one encounter and derive a payoff from that interaction. We assume that individuals adopt one of two strategies, and we consider symmetric games, which means the payoff depends only on the number of players using either strategy, but not on any particular configuration of the encounter. On the cycle we assume that any string of n neighbouring ...

A TRANSITION FROM TWO-PERSON ZERO-SUM GAMES TO COOPERATIVE GAMES WITH FUZZY PAYOFFS

In this paper, we deal with games with fuzzy payoffs. We proved that players who are playing a zero-sum game with fuzzy payoffs against Nature are able to increase their joint payoff, and hence their individual payoffs by cooperating. It is shown that, a cooperative game with the fuzzy characteristic function can be constructed via the optimal game values of the zero-sum games with fuzzy payoff...
